A message from Rt Revd Mark Ashcroft, Bishop of Bolton

As you will appreciate, we are having to change our plans for the Believe in Bolton Mission, 15-17th May. However, we are determined that the current restrictions will not prevent us from sharing the amazing good news of Jesus Christ; the Gospel is as relevant now as ever before, if not more so. We are now planning to hold one mission event online (via Zoom and YouTube) on Saturday 16th May at 7.30 pm. The evening will be an opportunity to celebrate life and faith in Bolton through music, testimony and sharing the Gospel message. We are delighted to be able to announce that our main speaker for the evening with be Bishop Jill Duff, the Bishop of Lancaster who grew up in Bolton and was a keynote speaker at the recent Spring Harvest Home event. We will also be joined by former Gladiator, Ace, who has a powerful testimony to share.

We are really excited about the impact that this evening can make in the town, as the Christian Gospel is proclaimed and people are called to respond. Therefore, we ask you to advertise it as widely as possible and encourage members of all our churches, as well as their family and friends, to join us. We will be advertising the event through social media, so take the opportunity of using this to promote the event.

While this mission event is being organized by the Anglican churches in the town, it is open to all churches to be involved.

CATCH-UP on the live stream event

June 2020 Update

The Steering Group are pleased to report that the live streaming event was very successful, wirth over 3000 views on Facebook and over 700 views on YouTube to date. One of the benefits of live-streaming is that the material persists and can be referenced long after the actual event. The individual elements from the meeting have now been uploaded separately, and can be found by opening YouTube and searching for "Believe in Bolton".

The Steering Group are also exploring the possibility of organising further events as part of "Believe in Bolton" for 2021. Please watch this space for further details.

If you would like to help us financially in covering the costs for the live stream event, or to contribute to the cost of hosting new events in 2021, please use the Donate button on this page. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
